Short Bio:
Dr. Özkan Özdemir graduated from the Department of Biology at Marmara University in 2007. He completed his Master’s degree in Immunology at the Aziz Sancar DETAE, Istanbul University in 2010, and his Ph.D. in Genetics in 2017. He has participated in numerous national and international projects in the fields of epilepsy genetics and rare diseases. In 2014, he founded Genus Research & Development and worked as a bioinformatics specialist at Acıbadem Labmed Genetic Diagnosis Center between 2018–2019. From 2019 to 2021, he conducted postdoctoral research at the CMMC, University of Cologne. After returning to Turkey, he has been serving as a faculty member at Acıbadem University School of Medicine and as the Director of the Biobank. In addition, he is the co-founder of Geniva Bilişim Sağlık A.Ş. and the creator of the GenNext platform.
