Abstract Submission Guidelines

Symposium Dates: November 16-17, 2024

Abstract Submission Deadline: October 31, 2024

When submitting an abstract for the symposium, it is essential to follow the specified instructions to ensure your submission is considered. Here are the guidelines to help you prepare:

  • Scope and Relevance: Submissions must align with topics in bioinformatics or computational biology. Unpublished work is preferred, but previously published work is also accepted (provided it has not been submitted to RSG-Türkiye Symposiums before).
  • Evaluation Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated based on the following:
    • Clarity: The research is clearly presented and easy to understand.
    • Originality: The work offers new insights or findings.
    • Relevance: The topic fits well within the symposium’s focus.
    • Scientific Quality: The results are meaningful and valuable.
    • Completeness: The abstract covers all critical aspects of the research.
  • Abstract Formatting:
    • Title: Should be concise yet descriptive of the research.
    • Word Limit: The abstract must not exceed 200 words.
    • Structure: Use the following sections:
      • Background: Provide context and state the purpose of your study.
      • Methodology: Briefly describe the methods used.
      • Results: Highlight key findings.
      • Conclusions: Summarize the significance and potential impact.
  • Author and Submission Rules: No personal information (e.g., affiliations or titles) should be included in the abstract. This data will be collected separately via the submission platform. Co-authors are allowed, but only the presenting author will receive the presentation or award certificate. All authors' names will appear in the conference abstract book. A participant can present only one submission (even if they are co-author on multiple works). The presenting author must be actively involved in the research presented.
  • Presentation Formats: Submitters can choose between the following presentation options:
    • Oral only
    • Oral or poster: The abstract will first be considered for an oral presentation. If not selected for oral presentation, it will automatically be reviewed for a poster presentation.
    • Poster only
  • Additional Notes: Avoid using abbreviations or references in the abstract. All accepted abstracts will be published in the symposium proceedings.
